Your Pet and Forced Labor
Some
pet owners were shocked to learn that their pet food has fish that was apparently harvested by Thai slave workers who were putting in 20 hours a day
catching and processing seafood. The pet owners sued Mars, the parent firm of Iams.
A federal judge tossed the lawsuit because no statute compels Iams to disclose
the possibility that its product uses forced labor. The case is Wirth v. Mars
Inc. Here is the interesting complaint filed by pet owners: Click here.
