Give this much credit to Paul D. Talbott, president of a construction company in Bellevue, Washington. He signed his name to a bullying email.
I do not reply directly to bullies. In this case, I wrote a letter to the editor of the Bellevue Reporter, where Mr. Talbott’s business is located. Here is my brief letter.
Breitbart recently published a critical story about my expertise as a professor on immigration law. A Bellevue contractor, under the heading of his construction company, sent an email to my university office. Written by Paul D. Talbott, President of TCI, Inc., the email stated: “Tens of millions of us in this country are fed up with liberal jackasses like you. People who enter this country illegally are illegal aliens. Seek help. Liberalism is a mental disorder. ” The letter has two striking features: first, its bullying tone, and second, its formal representation as TCI, Inc. policy, written by the firm's president. For liberals in the Bellevue community, there is no need to seek help, nor treatment for a mental disorder; but consider another bid on your construction project.
